Safeguarding

The PCC of St Peter’s Church recognises that we are all in need of protection from harm. As a Christian community, it is the responsibility of us all to protect those less able to protect themselves. While we promote processes and procedures to facilitate this, it is also vital that we recognise the risks and are willing and able to report concerns and take action if necessary.

Our volunteers

All St Peter’s volunteers, members and staff working with children, young people and vulnerable adults are assessed through the Disclosure and Barring System (DBS) and are required to hold a clear declaration to be involved in church activities.

Parish Safety Officer

John Hooper is the Parish Safety Officer (PSO). This is a voluntary role with delegated responsibility for issues relating to the safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults. John is the primary point of contact for any concerns relating to safeguarding. The PSO can be contacted by telephone on 0117 9646341.
